Product Description
This is the shape we cut most often, because it is the one buyers use to test a pattern library. A plain rectangular wide-tooth comb has nothing to distract from the material — no curve, no handle, no hardware — so whatever the acetate looks like is the entire product. It is the fastest way to see what your brand’s colour direction actually looks like in hand.
Ten Patterns, One Tooling
The comb runs in our full stock library, and the range is deliberately broader than the tortoiseshell-and-black most factories offer:
Pearl white and cream — soft shimmer, minimal contrast, clean-beauty positioning.
Black and white splatter — high-contrast dalmatian effect, the strongest performer on social.
Classic tortoiseshell — amber and dark brown, the perennial reorder.
Confetti terrazzo — pink, teal, mustard and violet chips through a dark base, for maximalist and youth-market lines.
Apricot and soft solids — quiet single tones for brands that want colour without pattern.
Grey and stone marble — neutral veining that photographs well against packaging.
Every one of these comes off the same mould. Ordering four patterns costs the same in tooling as ordering one, and they all count toward a single minimum — which is why this comb is usually the first item a new brand puts into production.
Wide Teeth, Cut From Solid Sheet
The teeth are broadly spaced for wet hair, curls and conditioner distribution, and each is CNC-cut then tumble-polished so the tips and inner faces come out smooth. Because the pattern is inside the sheet rather than printed on it, the figuring runs down through every tooth — turn the comb edge-on and the pattern is still there, which is the visual proof that it is not moulded plastic with a printed film.
Acetate is plant-derived, made from wood pulp, and does not build the static charge that sends fine hair flying after a plastic comb.
How Buyers Use the Format
The flat rectangular shape stacks and ships efficiently, sits well on a hanging card, and photographs cleanly from directly above — which matters more than it sounds for brands selling primarily through marketplace listings and social.
It is also the natural companion piece to a claw clip in the same pattern. Because the sheet is shared across our range, a comb, a claw clip and a headband can be cut from one run with identical figuring — a matched set is a far easier sell than three unrelated items.
Sampling the Library
Before committing, ask for a pattern sample set. Acetate is notoriously difficult to judge on screen — a tortoiseshell that looks warm on a monitor can arrive noticeably greener, and a pearl can read grey. We send physical swatches so the decision is made in daylight.
See the full library on our cellulose acetate collection page, compare against bamboo for a natural alternative, or send your quantity and pattern split to our OEM team.

About Cellulose Acetate
Cellulose acetate is a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from wood pulp or cotton fibers. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, it breaks down naturally over time, making it an eco-friendly choice for premium hair accessories. Its unique properties allow for rich color patterns — from classic tortoiseshell to custom marble effects — that cannot be replicated with standard plastics.
As a manufacturer with 25+ years of experience, EcoHairFactory has mastered the intricate process of cellulose acetate production — from sheet selection and pattern matching to precision cutting and multi-stage hand polishing. Each piece undergoes 8–12 finishing steps to achieve the signature smooth, glossy surface that defines high-end acetate accessories.

Yes, and that is the point. The pattern is inside the sheet rather than printed on it, so the figuring runs down through every tooth. Turn the comb edge-on — if the pattern stops at the surface, it is printed plastic.
Tortoiseshell reorders without seasonal prompting. Black-and-white splatter performs hardest on social. Terrazzo suits youth and maximalist lines. Most brands take one neutral and one statement pattern to start.
