Product Description
Most combs are a straight bar of teeth. This one is cut as a crescent — the spine curves, so the comb sits into the palm and the hand naturally follows the curve of the head instead of fighting it. It is a small geometric change that turns a functional object into something a customer notices when they pick it up.
Two Tooth Densities on One Comb
The teeth run wide at one end and fine at the other. In practice that means one tool covers two jobs: start at the wide end to break up a tangle without pulling, then finish with the fine end to smooth and part. For a travel or handbag comb, where a customer is only going to carry one, that combination is the whole selling proposition.
Every tooth is CNC-cut from solid acetate sheet and then tumble-polished, so the sides and tips come out glass-smooth. Acetate polishes to a finish that moulded plastic cannot reach — it is the reason a good acetate comb makes an audible difference in the hair, and why it commands several times the retail price of an injection-moulded equivalent.
11.9 × 4.9 cm, With a Leather Sleeve
The comb is deliberately small — it fits a handbag, a jacket pocket, or a hotel amenity kit. Because a bare comb in a bag collects lint and scratches, it is usually ordered with the fitted leather sleeve shown in the gallery, which turns it into a gift item rather than a tool.
The sleeve is produced alongside the comb and can be made in your own colour and grain, with a blind-debossed or foil-stamped logo. Leather has its own lead time, so raise it while quoting rather than after the comb is approved.
Two Stock Patterns
Classic tortoiseshell — amber, gold and deep brown layered through the sheet, so the figuring shifts as the comb turns in the light.
Pearl white — soft mother-of-pearl shimmer with almost no contrast, for minimal and bridal-adjacent lines.
Both run on the same tooling and count toward one order, and any other pattern in our library can be applied. Because the same sheet feeds our clips and headbands, a comb can be produced to match a claw clip exactly — see the full library on the cellulose acetate collection page.
Branding on a Curved Spine
The curved spine is wider than on a straight comb, which leaves room for a proper wordmark. Recessed engraving filled with paint or metallic foil is the premium option — the logo sits below the surface and cannot rub off. Hot foil stamping and laser engraving are both available.
For a longer straight comb with the same dual-density idea, see our dual-density dressing comb. To quote either, send your pattern and quantity to our OEM team.

About Cellulose Acetate
Cellulose acetate is a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from wood pulp or cotton fibers. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, it breaks down naturally over time, making it an eco-friendly choice for premium hair accessories. Its unique properties allow for rich color patterns — from classic tortoiseshell to custom marble effects — that cannot be replicated with standard plastics.
As a manufacturer with 25+ years of experience, EcoHairFactory has mastered the intricate process of cellulose acetate production — from sheet selection and pattern matching to precision cutting and multi-stage hand polishing. Each piece undergoes 8–12 finishing steps to achieve the signature smooth, glossy surface that defines high-end acetate accessories.
