The sheet on this one is unusual enough to be worth leading with. Red, deep green and gold chips are suspended through a dark base — closer to a terrazzo than to a tortoiseshell, and unlike anything else in our comb range. It photographs strongly and it does not read as a commodity comb.
The teeth are fine across roughly the first half of the comb and wide across the rest. That is the dressing-comb geometry: the wide section opens and separates, the fine section finishes and smooths, and the user turns the comb rather than reaching for a second one.
It is the reason this style sells into salon retail rather than only into gifting. If you want a single density instead, the translucent wide tooth comb is all-wide on the same 16 cm footprint.
Acetate is layered coloured sheet pressed into a block, and the comb is cut out of that block. So the chips are not printed on a surface — they are distributed through the full thickness, and each cut tooth exposes a different cross-section of them. Every comb is genuinely different, and the pattern cannot chip off because there is no coating to lose.
A different sheet on this same body costs nothing in tooling — sheet and body are separate decisions. A different body outline is a new cutting profile, which is still a small fraction of what an injection tool would cost, because acetate is cut rather than moulded.
