Product Description

The wave through each prong is the only working part of this fork. Everything else is shape.

What the Wave Does

A straight prong grips along its whole length or not at all — and in practice, not at all, because hair compresses. Putting a shallow S through each prong gives the fork two points where it presses back against the twist instead of one continuous face that slides.

That is why an 11 cm fork can hold what a straight 11 cm fork cannot. It is also why this one is worth carrying alongside a longer straight fork rather than instead of it: they solve the holding problem in different ways, and the short one is far easier to wear under a hat or against a headrest.

Four Figured Grounds

Every colourway on this fork is a figured sheet rather than a solid, which is deliberate — the wave already gives the silhouette something to look at, and a flat colour on a shape this small reads as plastic.

  • Dark tortoiseshell and amber tortoiseshell. The classic pair, one for dark hair and one for light.
  • Cream leopard. Fine black speckling on cream. The most contemporary of the four.
  • Black. The one exception to the figured rule, and the one that disappears completely in dark hair.

No Metal, No Mechanism

A hair fork has nothing to break. There is no spring to lose tension, no hinge to seize and no metal to corrode — it holds by friction and by the geometry of the prongs against a twist of hair, and that is the whole mechanism.

It is also why the tips matter more than anything else on the piece. Ours are tumble-polished after cutting, so the prong slides into hair rather than snagging it. A moulded tip has a parting line running down its length, and that line is exactly where hair catches.

Specification

11 cm, 30 g per piece. Short and heavy — the section is what makes a fork this length hold. Four stock colourways, custom colours from 1,000 pcs. For a longer fork in the same family see the 14 cm two-prong fork.

MOQ is 1,000 pcs per design. Browse the rest of the hair pin and fork range, or send your brief to our OEM team for a quote within 24 hours.

About Cellulose Acetate

Cellulose acetate is a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from wood pulp or cotton fibers. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, it breaks down naturally over time, making it an eco-friendly choice for premium hair accessories. Its unique properties allow for rich color patterns — from classic tortoiseshell to custom marble effects — that cannot be replicated with standard plastics.

As a manufacturer with 25+ years of experience, EcoHairFactory has mastered the intricate process of cellulose acetate production — from sheet selection and pattern matching to precision cutting and multi-stage hand polishing. Each piece undergoes 8–12 finishing steps to achieve the signature smooth, glossy surface that defines high-end acetate accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

For medium hair, yes — the wave in the prongs is what makes up the difference. For very thick hair go to the 14 cm two-prong or the wide U.

A straight prong slides, because hair compresses under it. The wave gives two contact points that press back independently. It is a real mechanical difference, not a styling detail.

Cast, right through the sheet. Every piece is slightly different for that reason, which is worth saying on your packaging rather than apologising for.

Yes, from 1,000 pcs, though we would sample it first — flat colour on a piece this small tends to read as plastic, which works against the material story.
