Product Description

A hair stick and a hair fork do the same job by opposite means. A fork holds with two prongs and friction; a stick holds with one prong and leverage, wrapped through the twist and then turned. The stick is harder to learn and faster once learned, which is why it is the format that dominates in markets where people grew up with it.

The Fan Head

The head is cut as a pleated fan — a series of ridges radiating out from the neck. It is doing two things. It gives the thumb something to push against when you turn the stick, which is the moment the hold is made and the moment a smooth head slips. And it catches light along every ridge, so a stick that is mostly a plain shaft still has something to look at.

A single pearl sits at the neck where the fan meets the shaft. Set into a drilled seat rather than glued to the face — on a piece that gets gripped and turned, a surface-glued bead has a short life.

Seven Colourways

Dark brown, white, vintage, coffee tortoiseshell, amber, dream purple and blue-brown. Seven is deep for a shape this simple, and it is the right depth here — a hair stick is worn one at a time and visibly, so it is bought the way jewellery is bought, by colour rather than by function.

The vintage and blue-brown are the two that do not exist elsewhere in the category and are worth sampling even if you launch with three.

No Metal, No Mechanism

A hair fork has nothing to break. There is no spring to lose tension, no hinge to seize and no metal to corrode — it holds by friction and by the geometry of the prongs against a twist of hair, and that is the whole mechanism.

It is also why the tips matter more than anything else on the piece. Ours are tumble-polished after cutting, so the prong slides into hair rather than snagging it. A moulded tip has a parting line running down its length, and that line is exactly where hair catches.

Specification

18 × 3.5 × 0.8 cm, 30 g per piece. Cut from 8 mm sheet — substantial, and the reason the shaft does not flex when it is turned under load. Seven stock colourways, custom colours from 1,000 pcs. If your customer wants a two-prong format instead, the 14 cm fork is the direct alternative.

For a shorter fork with a carved head rather than a fan, see the animal-top hair fork at 11.4 cm. MOQ is 1,000 pcs per design. Browse the rest of the hair pin and fork range, or send your brief to our OEM team for a quote within 24 hours.

About Cellulose Acetate

Cellulose acetate is a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from wood pulp or cotton fibers. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, it breaks down naturally over time, making it an eco-friendly choice for premium hair accessories. Its unique properties allow for rich color patterns — from classic tortoiseshell to custom marble effects — that cannot be replicated with standard plastics.

As a manufacturer with 25+ years of experience, EcoHairFactory has mastered the intricate process of cellulose acetate production — from sheet selection and pattern matching to precision cutting and multi-stage hand polishing. Each piece undergoes 8–12 finishing steps to achieve the signature smooth, glossy surface that defines high-end acetate accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both, if you can. A fork is easier for a first-time user; a stick is faster once learned and reads as more of an ornament. In most Western markets the fork sells first and the stick sells to the customer who came back.

Set into a drilled seat. A hair stick gets gripped and turned every time it is used, and a bead glued to the face does not survive that.

Because a thinner shaft flexes at the moment you turn it, which is exactly when it needs to be rigid. The 30 g weight is a consequence of that, not a target.

Yes, 15 cm runs on the same profile. Below that the leverage stops working and it becomes an ornament rather than a fastening.

1,000 pcs per design, and each of the seven colourways counts separately.
