Duckbill clips are one of the largest search categories in hair accessories, and most of what is on the market is the same wide teardrop in the same six colours. This is the narrow version — a 1.3 cm willow-leaf profile that reads as a line in the hair rather than a block.
At 1.3 cm across there is very little material either side of the base plate, so the acetate has to carry the spring load through a thin section. We cut this one at 1.6 cm deep for that reason — the depth is what stops a narrow clip flexing, and a slim duckbill cut from thin sheet will crack at the rivet inside a season.
It is also why the base is a full-length plate rather than a short one. A short plate on a long narrow body concentrates the load at two points instead of spreading it.
Slim duckbills do a job wide ones cannot: they hold a small section — a fringe growing out, hair back from one side — without announcing themselves. That is a genuinely different use case from the wide teardrop, and it is worth carrying both rather than treating this as a size variant.

Not at this depth. The 1.6 cm section is what carries the spring load, and it is the spec we would not reduce even though a thinner sheet would cost less.
The sheet is selected with finer figuring than we would use on a wide clip. Full-scale tortoiseshell pattern on a 1.3 cm body reads as random blotches, not shell.
Yes, 7.5 cm and 9 cm both run. Longer holds more but the slim profile is the point of this one, so we would sample before you commit a full order.
