Product Description
Every round brush problem starts at the handle. Blow-drying means one hand holding a dryer at 100°C while the other rotates a barrel through wet hair — and a lacquered wooden handle in a damp hand slips. This brush replaces it with natural cork.
The Cork Handle
Cork is harvested bark, stripped from living oak trees on a nine-year cycle without felling anything, which makes it one of the few genuinely renewable materials in hair tools. For a round brush its properties happen to line up exactly with what the job needs:
It grips when wet. Cork’s cell structure stays tacky against a damp palm instead of turning slick.
It does not conduct heat. Under a dryer, a cork handle stays at hand temperature while metal ferrules and lacquered wood warm up.
It is light. Less wrist fatigue through a long blow-dry, which is why stylists notice this brush before consumers do.
The handle is turned with a ribbed profile so the fingers find the same position every rotation — a detail that only matters once you have used a smooth-handled round brush for twenty minutes.
Boar Bristle and Nylon Together
The barrel is beechwood, filled with a mix of white boar bristle and nylon filament rather than one or the other. The reasoning is mechanical: boar bristle is fine and dense, so it grips the hair surface and pulls the cuticle flat for shine, but on its own it cannot get through a thick section. Nylon filament is longer and stiffer, so it does the structural work of holding tension while the boar does the polishing. Together they produce the smooth, curved-under finish that a blow-out is judged on.
Two barrel fill patterns are available — straight grain for even tension across the section, and twill for more aggressive lift at the root. Most brands take straight grain for a general range and twill for a professional line.
Two Sizes, Two Jobs
The 26 × 6.5 cm barrel is for length and for smoothing out waves. The 23 × 7 cm barrel is wider relative to its length, which builds more volume at the root and puts a bigger curve in the ends. Salon-focused brands usually take both; retail lines usually start with the 26 cm.
Neither is a detangling tool — a round brush is for shaping dry or nearly-dry hair. Wet detangling belongs to a detangling brush, and everyday brushing to a paddle or cushion brush. Positioning them as three separate jobs is what makes customers buy more than one.
Retail-Ready
The brush ships in a white rigid box sized for the barrel, which suits gift and professional positioning better than a polybag. Branding goes on the cork by heat stamp — cork takes a deep, clean impression — or on the box by printing. Frequently Asked Questions
Three reasons that matter during a blow-dry: cork grips a damp palm instead of turning slick, it does not conduct heat from the dryer, and it is light, so the wrist tires less. It is also harvested bark, taken without felling the tree.
Boar is fine and dense, so it grips the hair surface and pulls the cuticle flat for shine, but it cannot get through a thick section alone. Nylon is longer and stiffer and holds the tension. Together they give the curved-under finish a blow-out is judged on.
Straight grain gives even tension across the section and suits general use. Twill lifts more aggressively at the root and suits professional lines. Most brands take straight grain for retail and twill for salon.
The 26 × 6.5 cm for length and smoothing waves; the 23 × 7 cm for root volume and a bigger curve in the ends. Retail lines usually start with the 26 cm; salon-focused brands take both.
