The difference between a hair clip that feels like a product and one that feels like packaging is usually sheet thickness. Most acetate side clips are cut from 2 mm stock because it is cheaper and cuts faster. This one is cut from 4 mm, and you can tell without being told.

Two things. First, the body stops flexing. On a thin clip, pressing the ends together bends the acetate as well as the spring, which is why thin clips feel loose and eventually take a set. At 4 mm the body does not give, so all the movement happens where it should.
Second, it doubles the visible edge. Acetate looks most obviously like a material — rather than a colour — at the cut edge, where the laminated layers show. A 4 mm edge shows twice as much of that as a 2 mm one, which is a real part of why this clip reads as more expensive than it costs.

All six are cut from the same profile, so carrying the whole set adds sheet cost but no tooling. Custom colours mean pouring a custom sheet — ask us for the sheet minimum before you commit to a shade.

Stock hardware is a matte black spring base rather than plated gold. On a 4 mm body the acetate is the product, and bright metal fights it for attention — the same reasoning that leads us to a colour-matched base on our frosted pastel clip. Gold, silver and antique brass are all available if your range needs them.
7 × 2.5 × 1 cm, 10 g per piece, 4 mm sheet. Heavy enough to hold a real section of hair, small enough not to be a statement piece. Branding runs as recessed ink-fill or laser engraving on the reverse; see the full acetate collection for what else runs in the same material.
Two smaller side clips sit below this one in the range: the triangle side clip at 6.5 cm on a gold-tone insert-pin base, and the mini geometric clip, a heart, square and bar set from 3.7 cm. MOQ is 500 pcs per design. Send your reference to our OEM team for a quote within 24 hours.
Make this product your own. Every detail is customizable for orders meeting the MOQ.
Laser engraving, hot stamping, silk screen printing, or UV printing on product body and handle.
Pantone color matching. For acetate: custom tortoiseshell, marble, and unique pattern designs.
Modify dimensions or create entirely new shapes. 2,000+ existing molds or develop new ones.
Kraft boxes, velvet pouches, blister packs, retail-ready display cards. Your brand on every package.
These are the stock colours this shape runs in. Any Pantone reference can be matched on top of them — colour is mixed into the material, not sprayed on the surface, so it never chips or fades.
Send a Pantone code or a physical reference and we will match it on the sample before bulk. See the full pattern library →
Packaging is produced alongside the product and ships as one order. Printed packaging carries its own lead time, so tell us early which route you want.

Samples from an existing mould ship against a sample fee that is credited back against your first bulk order. Custom-tooled samples are quoted case by case.
Bulk production starts once the pre-production sample is approved in writing. Reorders of a running design are faster, because tooling and colour are already set.
FOB, CIF, DAP and DDP are all available, by sea or by air, from Shenzhen or Guangzhou. DDP is the simplest route for a first order.
Cellulose acetate is a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from wood pulp or cotton fibers. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, it breaks down naturally over time, making it an eco-friendly choice for premium hair accessories. Its unique properties allow for rich color patterns — from classic tortoiseshell to custom marble effects — that cannot be replicated with standard plastics.
As a manufacturer with 25+ years of experience, EcoHairFactory has mastered the intricate process of cellulose acetate production — from sheet selection and pattern matching to precision cutting and multi-stage hand polishing. Each piece undergoes 8–12 finishing steps to achieve the signature smooth, glossy surface that defines high-end acetate accessories.
Stiffness and perceived value. A 2mm clip flexes when you press it and feels disposable in the hand; at 4mm the body does not give at all, so the spring does the work instead of the plastic. It also doubles the visible edge, which is where the acetate pattern is most obvious.
Because at 4mm the body is the product and bright metal competes with it. Matte black recedes and lets the sheet pattern carry the piece. Gold and silver are available if your range needs them.
Yellow tortoiseshell and shell white, consistently. The wine and amber sell in narrower windows. If you are launching with three, take yellow tortoiseshell, shell white and black.
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to widen a range. Sheet cost dominates on a thick clip, so a second profile off the same sheet adds a cutting die rather than a new material spend. Send us the outline.
