This is a professional tool that happens to look like a retail one. The head is only 15 millimetres wide and carries three rows of boar bristle — enough to lift and hold a section at the root, not enough to brush with. The other end is a long acetate point for parting and lifting.

Backcombing needs the bristles concentrated. A wide head spreads the force and flattens the section instead of building it. Three rows on a 15 mm head is the standard salon geometry, and it is why this shape has not really changed in fifty years.
The boar is doing the work here rather than nylon. Natural bristle grips the hair without the slip that a synthetic filament has, which is what makes the backcomb hold once the section is released.
Cut from the same acetate block as the handle, so it is one piece with no join to fail. A tail is used constantly — parting, lifting, sectioning — and on a cheaper tool it is the part that snaps first because it has been glued or moulded on separately. Here there is nothing to come apart.

Lighter than a conventional brown tortoiseshell, with cream and honey figuring through the sheet. As with all acetate, the pattern is layered into the material and the shape is cut out of the block, so the figuring runs the full thickness and cannot wear off the tail no matter how much it is used.
Other bodies in the same family: our dual bristle cushion brush for smoothing, and the ball-tip nylon detangler for wet hair. The full range is under hair brushes.
Make this product your own. Every detail is customizable for orders meeting the MOQ.
Laser engraving, hot stamping, silk screen printing, or UV printing on product body and handle.
Pantone color matching. For acetate: custom tortoiseshell, marble, and unique pattern designs.
Modify dimensions or create entirely new shapes. 2,000+ existing molds or develop new ones.
Kraft boxes, velvet pouches, blister packs, retail-ready display cards. Your brand on every package.
These are the stock colours this shape runs in. Any Pantone reference can be matched on top of them — colour is mixed into the material, not sprayed on the surface, so it never chips or fades.
Send a Pantone code or a physical reference and we will match it on the sample before bulk. See the full pattern library →
The bristle set changes the feel, the target hair type and the price. All four run on this same body, so you can switch without new tooling.

Undecided? We will send one sample of each bristle type so you can compare them in hand before committing to bulk.
Packaging is produced alongside the product and ships as one order. Printed packaging carries its own lead time, so tell us early which route you want.

Samples from an existing mould ship against a sample fee that is credited back against your first bulk order. Custom-tooled samples are quoted case by case.
Bulk production starts once the pre-production sample is approved in writing. Reorders of a running design are faster, because tooling and colour are already set.
FOB, CIF, DAP and DDP are all available, by sea or by air, from Shenzhen or Guangzhou. DDP is the simplest route for a first order.
Cellulose acetate is a plant-derived, biodegradable material made from wood pulp or cotton fibers. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, it breaks down naturally over time, making it an eco-friendly choice for premium hair accessories. Its unique properties allow for rich color patterns — from classic tortoiseshell to custom marble effects — that cannot be replicated with standard plastics.
As a manufacturer with 25+ years of experience, EcoHairFactory has mastered the intricate process of cellulose acetate production — from sheet selection and pattern matching to precision cutting and multi-stage hand polishing. Each piece undergoes 8–12 finishing steps to achieve the signature smooth, glossy surface that defines high-end acetate accessories.
Both are sold. The geometry is professional, but the acetate handle is why it also sells at retail — most teasing brushes are black plastic.
Yes, and it costs less, but it grips differently. If the brief is backcombing, boar is the correct answer. Say which you want at sampling stage.
It is part of the 21.5 cm overall length rather than measured separately. Ask for the sample if the tail proportion matters to your design.
Yes. The body and the sheet are separate decisions, and an existing body in a stock sheet costs no tooling.
