Bamboo Cushion Hair Brush with Wooden Pins | Plastic-Free OEM

Almost every “eco” hair brush on the market has plastic pins. The body is bamboo, the marketing is plastic-free, and the part that touches the hair is nylon. This one is not: the pins are turned from wood, rounded at the tip, and set into a natural rubber cushion — so the whole head is plant-based, not just the part you photograph.

Wooden Pins Feel Different

A wooden pin does not flex. That changes the stroke: instead of bending around a tangle the way nylon does, it separates the section and carries oil from the scalp down the hair shaft. Users describe it as a firmer, more “combed” feeling, and it is the reason wooden-pin brushes have a following among people with thick, straight, or oily hair.

The tips are turned to a ball and tumbled smooth, which is the whole safety story on a rigid pin. It is also the step cheap suppliers skip — worth checking on any sample you receive from anyone, ours included.

Because wooden pins are rigid, this is a dry-brushing and scalp-stimulation tool rather than a wet detangler. For wet hair, the flexible-pin detangling brushes are the right build.

Bamboo Body, Two Colourways

The body is hot-press laminated moso bamboo, finished in clear lacquer only — bamboo takes a clear coat well and looks wrong under colour, so we do not spray it. The lamination lines are visible across the back and are part of the appeal: they say “not plastic” without a single word of copy.

Two stock colourways run on the same tooling:

• Full natural — bamboo body, wooden pins, natural rubber cushion. The fully plastic-free configuration, and the one to lead with for sustainability claims.
• Pink ombre — a gradient dip on the handle with a matching pink cushion. It is the version that performs on social and in gift sets, and it shows buyers that “eco” does not have to mean beige.

Certification Buyers Actually Ask For

Bamboo is the easiest material in our range to substantiate. Moso is harvested on a three-to-five year cycle without replanting, and our supply is FSC certified, with GRS 4.0 documentation available for the rubber cushion. If your packaging carries a sustainability claim, you will be asked for these — we supply the certificates with their numbers, not a logo.

Sizes and Branding

The brush runs at 22 × 7 cm as an oval cushion, with a 22 × 6 cm slimmer version on the same tooling. Laser engraving on bamboo produces a crisp dark mark and is the only branding method we recommend here — printing on a plastic-free brush undercuts the proposition it is sold on.
