Product Description
A vented round brush does one thing a solid barrel cannot: it lets air from the dryer pass through the barrel instead of bouncing off it. That halves the time hair spends under heat, which matters more for hair condition than any bristle claim on the packaging.
The Slots Are the Product
The gold-anodised barrel is slotted between the bristle rows along its whole length. Air goes in one side and out the other, so the section wrapped round the barrel dries from both faces at once rather than from the outside in.
Anodising rather than plating is the right call on a vented barrel. Plating builds a layer on the surface, and every slot edge is a place for that layer to lift; anodising converts the surface itself, so there is no edge to fail. It is also why the gold here will not wear back to silver at the contact points.
Four Diameters, One Handle
Round brushes are bought by barrel diameter, and a range needs at least three: a small barrel for a fringe and the hair round the face, a medium for the bulk of the head, and a large for a smooth blow-out on long hair. The fourth size in this set sits between the medium and large, which is the size most salons reach for first.
All four run the same handle, so the set looks like a family and the tooling cost sits on one part.
The Tail Pin
The wooden handle tapers to a point rather than ending in a cap. That point is a sectioning tool — it lifts and parts a clean section without putting the brush down, which is the difference between a brush designed by someone who blow-dries hair and one designed from a drawing.
Bristle
Boar and nylon mixed in the same tuft. Boar carries oil down the hair shaft and does the smoothing; nylon is stiffer and does the gripping. A pure boar fill is gentler but slips on thick hair, and a pure nylon fill grips well and leaves hair rougher. The mix is the working compromise, and the ratio is specifiable.
Wood or Bamboo, Same Tooling
Every wooden part on this brush also runs in bamboo. It is the same turning and the same tooling — what changes is the blank we start from, so the decision is yours to make on positioning rather than ours to make on engineering.
Bamboo is the harder and denser of the two, it takes a slightly cooler tone, and for a lot of buyers it is the one that carries the sustainability story more convincingly because it is a grass that regrows in years rather than decades. Beech and schima take colour better and machine to a warmer finish. Ask for both at sampling — it costs nothing extra to see them side by side, and it is much easier to decide with the two in your hand.
Twill or Straight Grain
The same barrel is planted two ways, and they are different tools rather than a cosmetic choice.
Twill. Tufts set on a spiral. More grip, so it holds a section that does not want to hold — fine hair, hair that resists a curl, a bob that needs bend at the ends.
Straight grain. Tufts in straight rows. Less grip, and it releases the section cleanly, which is what you want on thick or heavy hair where a high-grip brush just tangles.
If you are only carrying one, carry twill — it covers more hair types badly-but-adequately, where straight grain fails outright on fine hair. If you can carry two, they sell to genuinely different customers.

All four are 26.8 cm overall on a 14.7 cm handle, so the handle is constant and only the barrel changes. Solid wood handle, aluminium barrel, boar and nylon fill. Barrel diameters are the measurement to design around: outer diameter is the brush including bristle, barrel diameter is the tube itself, and it is the tube that sets the curl radius.

Frequently Asked Questions
Twill sets the tufts on a spiral and grips harder, which suits fine hair and anything that resists a curl. Straight grain sets them in rows, grips less and releases cleanly, which suits thick or heavy hair. Same barrel, two different tools.
The 4.5 cm outer is the everyday size and the 5.0 cm the volume size. The 4.2 cm is a fringe brush and the 5.5 cm is for long hair — start with the middle two.
Anodised. On a slotted barrel every slot edge is a place a plated layer can lift; anodising converts the surface itself so there is no edge to fail.
Yes. Boar and nylon in one tuft is stock, and the ratio is specifiable — more boar for smoothing, more nylon for grip on thick hair.
Yes, same tooling. Bamboo is denser and cooler-toned; beech and schima take colour better. We will sample both if you ask.
