Product Description
Black is the hardest finish to get right on wood. Any sanding mark, any grain that lifted during curing, any thin patch in the spray shows immediately — which is why most factories default to natural or mid-brown. This brush is beech sprayed to a deep, even black, then paired with a warm gold cushion so the two read as a deliberate pairing rather than a default.
The Finish Is the Product
Getting to a clean black takes more stages than a natural lacquer: seal, sand, spray, cure, flat back, spray again. The result is an opaque, slightly satin surface that hides the beech entirely and behaves like a designed object rather than a wooden tool. On a salon station or a bathroom shelf it disappears into a dark interior instead of shouting “wooden brush”.
The colour is sprayed, not dyed, so it can be moved. The same body has run in matte white, deep green, and burgundy for brands whose palette needed it. If you want the beech itself to show, the clear-lacquer paddle is the honest version of the same material.
Stainless Steel Pins, Not Nylon
This head carries stainless steel pins with polished ball tips, set into a gold-toned cushion. Steel behaves differently from nylon in a way customers feel on the first stroke: it does not flex. A nylon pin bends away from resistance, which is gentle but leaves the section only partly separated. A steel pin holds its line and takes the section apart in one pass, then the ball tip carries the load across the scalp instead of a point.
That makes this a brush for smoothing, finishing, and scalp stimulation on dry hair — the salon use case. It is deliberately not the tool for a wet, knotted head; that job belongs to a detangling brush with flexible ball-tip nylon.
Oval, 22.5 × 8.5 cm
The oval head is wide for its length, which puts most of the pin count in the middle of the stroke where the work happens. The handle swells through the palm and narrows at the base, so it can be held either choked-up for control near the roots or at the end for long sweeping strokes.
It sits naturally alongside the dark hardwood oval brush in a two-piece premium range: same pin system, opposite finish philosophy — one hides the wood, one celebrates it. Brands often run both and let the customer choose.
Branding
On a black sprayed surface, laser engraving cuts through the paint to the pale beech underneath, producing a light-on-dark mark that is far more striking than engraving on natural wood. It is the single best branding effect available in our wooden range, and it costs nothing extra.
Hot foil in gold or rose gold is the other strong option, and it picks up the gold cushion. Ask our OEM team for a branding sample on the actual finish — engraving depth reads differently on sprayed paint than on bare wood, and it is worth seeing before you commit.

Any sanding mark, lifted grain or thin patch in the spray shows immediately on black, so it takes more stages: seal, sand, spray, cure, flat back, spray again. Most factories default to natural or mid-brown to avoid it.
Steel does not flex. It holds its line and separates a section in one pass, while nylon bends away from resistance. That makes steel better for smoothing, finishing and scalp stimulation on dry hair, and worse for wet knots.

Yes. The colour is sprayed rather than inherent, and this body has also run in matte white, deep green and burgundy. Any Pantone can be matched.
