Palm brushes work well on short and medium beards. Past about four centimetres they stop reaching, because you cannot get the angle: a long beard has to be brushed from underneath and outward, and a brush with no handle puts your wrist in the wrong place to do it.
At 155 mm overall the brush is long enough to work from below the jaw outward in one motion, and short enough to keep in a wash bag. The handle is waisted rather than straight — the narrow point stops the hand sliding forward onto the bristles when brushing wet, and gives the grip a fixed reference so the bristle angle stays consistent through the stroke.
That is the same problem the recessed channel solves on our palm-shaped beard brush, approached from the other direction.
The field is boar and nylon together rather than one or the other, and each is doing a distinct job:
Stock is an even mix. Weighting it towards nylon turns the brush into a detangling tool for coarse beards; weighting it towards boar makes it a finishing and conditioning brush. We set the ratio at sampling, so tell us the beard length you are designing for.
The same shape in pale beech, mid beech and dark walnut lands in visibly different price brackets, and it is the cheapest lever a brand has on this product. Pale beech reads clean and Scandinavian; walnut reads traditional barbershop. Neither is better — they sell to different customers, and some ranges carry both.
Beyond wood: bristle grade, bristle colour, engraving depth and the box. Laser engraving on the handle back is the standard route and survives daily handling in a way a surface print does not.

Bulk production starts once the pre-production sample is approved in writing. Reorders of a running design are faster, because tooling and colour are already set.

Boar conditions but is too soft on its own to get through a long or dense beard. Nylon pins are stiffer and reach the skin, so a mixed field does both jobs: the nylon parts the beard and the boar distributes oil along it. For beards past about 4cm the mix outperforms pure boar noticeably.
Reach and angle. A palm brush is quick for a short beard, but on a long beard you need to brush from underneath and out, and a handle is the only way to get that angle without an awkward wrist. Most ranges carry both for that reason.
