The wavy clip is the shape that made acetate hair accessories visible to a younger customer, and it is still the one that sells a range to someone who has never thought about what a hair clip is made of.
The ripple runs through the full 1.5 cm depth of the piece, so the edge you see from the side follows the same curve as the face. That only happens if the wave is cut from solid block. Bending a flat strip gives you a wave from the front and a flat edge from the side, and the difference is obvious the moment the clip is worn at an angle.
It costs more in material — the offcut between the peaks is waste — and it is the reason a properly cut wavy clip does not price like a moulded one.
The palette is deliberately quiet. A wavy shape is already doing something, and a loud colour on top of it competes rather than helps.
In the neutrals this is a minimalist everyday clip. In the greens and pinks it is a colour product. Same tool, same cost, two completely different shelf positions — which is worth knowing when you are deciding how many of the nine to carry and how to split them across channels.
